Soko’s gettin’ ready for Christmas.
“You better watch out. You better not cry.
Soko’s gonna snag it, kiss your candy cane goodbye!
Santa Claus is coming to SoKo town.”

Weekend Goods
This past weekend was pretty fun… Friday, after we returned home from the school field trip, I just hung around here. Oddly enough, I felt like doing some yard work. So I picked some weeds out by “the Jew,” scooped dog poop, did some house and zoo cleaning, read my book… even practiced violin for [...]

One Wacked Day
Taekwando went real well last night. We began learning the punching/ kicking/ blocking routine you always see on martial arts films, so it was a bit intense and way too much memorization for one evening. Afterward, the 5 of us went to Heather’s apartment complex for the monthly parking lot carnival they set up. We [...]

It’s a Beautiful Day
…in the neighborhood.
Aha! Gotcha… You were thinkin’ U2 and now you’re thinkin’ Mr. Rogers. ;-p
I started my morning off with a nice, 30-minute walk down my mountain and into town. Now, I don’t know if it’s because I don’t know how to use an umbrella correctly, if my umbrella’s too small, or if the rain [...]

3 Pups and a Pond
Meet the newest member of our Yellow Ribbon family. We call him Ajee, short for gangajee, which means “puppy” in Korean.
Although we’re not sure how old the new guy is either, I’m pretty certain this one IS indeed a puppy. I’ve been taking him on 2-hour walks down around town lately- mainly because I’m [...]

Surf’s Pup!
So, today after lunch, a few of us had a blast opening up the latest package my mom sent me.
Because the claim sheet read “puppy toys,” Pastor and Mrs. Lee were excited to open it up as well.
Aww man, did these spoiled little pups hit the jackpot!!
Toys, toys, everywhere.
They were like kids [...]

Gone Raftin’
Yesterday was Market Day at the kindergarten.
During classes, we give out stickers for good behavior as an incentive program. The children collect all their stickers in their “bank book.” The more stickers a student collects, the more things he can purchase at Market Day.
It creates the perfect environment for students to practice practical, conversational English [...]

The Mud Twins
Korea’s Mudfest may still be 3 weeks away (SO excited), but the pups had their own today.
Pastor worked a lot on the pond this afternoon- Yellow Ribbon’s newest up-and-coming project.
So, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum had themselves a grand ol’ time splashing around in the mud.
Gongju’s scraggly, long hair made her look like the Swamp [...]

Ain’t Nothin’ but a Horndog
So, I got asked for the 4th time this week if I were Russian again. As if I’m not already a spectacle hoppin’ down the bunny trail alone here in Korea farm country… Now, I’m that white girl with the two puppies. ;-p
Dukbokee Lady #1 got to meet the twins tonight.
She was so happy to [...]

Spring Picnic
OK, so names. I’ve decided on Gongju for her (princess) and Soko for him (short for South Korea).
I tried to take ‘em both down into town today for a “walk,” but really, lover boy just coaxed me into carrying him for an hour and a half. The pretty little princess wouldn’t come down the hill, [...]
