Cha-Ching!

I received TWO jumbo-sized packages from my mama today and it’s like all of a sudden, my bedroom is just oozing Christmas.
Thank you so much, Mom.  You truly are the best.
And I’m sure the kiddies will be so thankful for their goodies.
Love you!

Turkey’s Good for the Seoul

This weekend was a good one.  I went snowboarding Friday up at Bear’s Town- a ski resort just 20 minutes from my place.  Minus a nasty fall I took on the ice that left me hurting until even now, it was a lot of fun.
On Saturday, I got together with a bunch of friends to [...]

So Much to Be Thankful For

Many of my co-teachers asked me if I was a little sad today, being so far away from my friends and family on Thanksgiving.
Now, granted, if I could be anywhere right now, it’d be back home baking pies with my mum and stealing pieces of turkey whenever my dad stepped away from carving it- eyeing [...]

A Fluttering Sign

I’m sitting at my desk enjoying a nice, big cup of hot chocolate.
It’s Friday morning, the first day of a long weekend.
The sun is shining, the clouds are few, and the weather is lovely.  There’s just enough crispness to the cool air to remind me that winter’s but around the corner.  I wrap the black [...]

The Beautiful Simplicity of Nature

“Sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have somebody click the shutter.” ~Ansel Adams
Today was a lovely day to go frolicking through Seoul.
The morning rain was just heavy enough to make everything smell wonderfully fresh.
The wind was just strong enough to whisk great oak leaves through the cool, [...]

Halloween Comes to Korea

Kelly left basically when my mom arrived, but they certainly were in Korea at the same time and we have just one picture to prove it.
It was taken on Friday morning, when Kelly was heading to the airport and Yellow Ribbon celebrated its first Halloween ever.
Koreans don’t know much about “Halloweenday” minus the [...]

Korea with Me is a Marathon

When I got home from taekwando last night, my little room seemed much bigger… and much quieter.  I miss my daddy.
It was fun hearing some of Dad’s observations while he was here, especially when they matched up with my own.  He was here for 2 weeks and we were quite the busy little big bees.
“Why [...]

I Don’t Know Why

My first day back to school and it wasn’t nearly as disappointing as it was supposed to be. In fact, it was lovely.  I even found myself walking a bit faster up those last few steps leading to the kindergarten, I was so excited to see my students after two weeks.  (And thanks be to [...]

Welcome to Wherever You Are

Namyangju, Seoul, Jochiwon, Busan, Jeju Island, the DMZ…

A photo montage with a little help from Bon Jovi:
(Now remember, many of these photos are from Love Land, a sex-ed theme park on “Honeymoon [...]

Boryeong Mud Fest

The mineral-rich mud at Daecheon Beach is said to have special properties that make for healthier skin.
In order to promote the area’s mud, Boryeong City started a 2-week-long festival in July where people could come experience it for free.
And somewhere along the way, foreigners started flocking to this west coast beach as well.  These days, [...]
